Feng Shui - Basics Mirror
When I told people that I was a professional Feng Shui consultant, people offered a variety of responses:
"Oh, we hear the reason we eat out all the time is because our bathroom is near our kitchen. Is that true?"
"I Feng Shui to my office. I moved my desk to the west side of the room because it was the corner of the money and put the 'money tree' in the corner."
"We hang wind chimes inside our door to refresh energy, but we continue to crash into it and it really bothers me."
"My colleague and my house were blessed before we moved to get rid of bad energy. Is that what you vintage convex mirror do for people?"
What's interesting about all these statements is that they misunderstood Feng Shui or not Feng Shui at all. Over the past decade, this ancient practice has become very popular in the western world. However, with this popularity there have been many misunderstandings. What exactly is this discipline and why is it so mysterious? Feng Shui began in China and has been practiced there for thousands of years, why is it still so misunderstood?
Classic or Traditional Feng Shui is the study of the flow of energy and balance in and around man-made structures. This energy is usually referred to as qi or chi. The aim is to make you as comfortable as possible in your environment and make your environment support your well-being. There are many aspects that a practitioner will use together with each other. I will briefly touch on a number of different tools that consultants can use to evaluate your space: the environment, supporting directions, and five elements.
A consultant will assess the environment around the house, such as roads, waterways, land slope, and man-made structures to determine how energy flows around the house. Based on this analysis, recommendations will be made about how to increase energy movement around the house. Some examples are planting shrubs to protect homes from impending traffic or cutting existing trees to allow more light to enter the house.
Many people have heard that Feng Shui involves furniture arrangements. Everyone has a different support direction that suits him. For example, which wall should you put in bed so you don't sleep, or where should you be most productive at work? A knowledgeable practitioner will be able to determine the direction that supports this from one's birth date. Beware of generic directions. For example, not everyone sleeps with the head of a bed on the north wall. A good consultant will adjust this position for you.
Feng Shui utilizes five elements - namely land, water, wood, fire and metal - to help balance energy in the home. By using the date of house construction and the direction of the compass (north, south etc.), practitioners will develop an energy map for the structure. The energy map will show practitioners all imbalances in elemental energy. This will also show which areas might be more suitable for work, sleep, creative endeavors, and even which areas should be used as little as possible. A practitioner will use this map to make recommendations about how to use the five elements to Antiqued convex mirror improve, or "cure", imbalance. One must avoid unsightly or easily identified remedies as drugs. Elemental medicine must be part of the overall decoration of the room. Protect yourself from practitioners who require you to buy medicine from them. Sales of items such as animal statues, cave mirrors, gold coins, crystals, and convex mirrors are not solutions that come from traditional Feng Shui and are more related to Chinese superstition. Practitioners who use this do not have a strong understanding of this practice.
